Show me How

Hi, welcome to the show me how page, this page will try to help you with any part of the process that you think you may need a little help with. Everything will be laid out step by step so you can see the entire process or a take a look at a particular part specifically. So let’s get started!

So what does it take to get an ad online?

Well getting your ad online for the first time will entail 3 steps:

(Click on any of the steps to expand them for more information)

STEP 1: SUBMIT YOUR AD

To submit your ad:

Complete the form on the Place an ad page and clicksubmit for review“.

  • If you are a job seeker then your ad type will be “Seeking Employment”.
  • If you are an entrepreneur operating as a one person business, small business or micro-business then your ad type would be “Entrepreneur/Business”.

If you are not comfortable with forms or need help with your ad or submitting your ad, you are always free to contact us

When your ad has been received and not just successfully sent you should receive an immediate auto-response informing you that your ad has been successfully received. Remember to check your junk mail if you do not see the auto-reply in your inbox.

STEP 2: WAIT FOR A CONFIRMATION THAT YOUR AD HAS BEEN REVIEWED AND READY FOR POSTING

Why is there a need to wait on an ad review?

When an ad is submitted it is reviewed in an effort to help protect and prevent users and visitors from being exposed to spam or abuse of the service from any entity or individual who might make payments and post ads that are not relevant or perhaps inappropriate or offensive in nature.

Once your ad is reviewed, a confirmation will be sent via email informing you that your ad has been reviewed and is ready for posting. When you receive this confirmation you are free to purchase your ad time at your convenience. (all efforts will be made to review your ads and send review confirmations within 24 hours of your ad submission.)

If there are problems with your ad you will be contacted via email.

STEP 3: MAKE A PAYMENT

Once you receive an ad reviewed confirmation you can select and purchase your ad time from our Online Shop. You can make a payment online via credit card, debit card, direct bank deposit (coming soon) or in person at any branch of Republic Bank (Barbados).

When your payment is received your ad will be placed online for the length of time purchased. So for example if you want to post your ad for a year you would purchase the 1 Year product if you want to post your ad for 4 months you would purchase the 30 Days product with a Quantity of 4.

When you make a successful payment you will receive a receipt acknowledging your payment and informing you that your order is processing (so your payment has been received and your ad will be posted).

As soon as your ad is posted on the website, you will receive a 2nd receipt to let you know your order has been completed.

If you would like further information on how to make payments you can visit the Payment Methods page.

You’re posted online!

Ok, so I see how the process works but could you:

Show me how...

an ad might look typed into the Place an Ad form.

The image below shows an example of how someone seeking a job as a babysitter or nanny might type their ad on the “Place an Ad” form. This individual is skilled in both areas and of course your ad would be written with content and a writing style to suit you.

Example-ad

that example ad would look when it's posted.

If we use the babysitter/nanny ad as the example, then that ad would be posted in the “Babysitter/Nanny” category on the Available for Hire page and would look like this when posted.

As seen below the posted ad would give a preview of the full page profile. If a main profile picture is attached when the ad is submitted it will be used instead of the silhouette.

example for hire ad

the full page profile would look.

If someone looking for a babysitter or nanny clicks on the posted ad then they will be taken to a full page profile with all of the information on the individual or business they are interested in. They can bookmark this profile for later reference if they want to contact the individual for hire at a later date.

The images illustrate what the full page profiles linked to the posted ads would look like.

Show me how I can use the site and benefit as...

an entrepreneur (independent contractor, a one person, micro-business or small business).

If you are self-employed operating as an entrepreneur whether you are an independent contractor, sole proprietor or you have a micro-business or small business then the Businesses section is the place for you.

Ads for self-employed individuals and businesses will be placed in categories (Electrical Services for example) for quick and easy identification and every ad links to a full page profile with contact information, information on services and the business, images and an optional 5 star rating review system to allow customers to rate and review your business if you desire. The option also exists to add a Google Maps location for your business and anyone can share your profile directly to social media and Whatsapp (if they have a compatible mobile device). This can be seen in the example profile for Jane Roe Generator and Electrical Services and you can even use your personal profile URL (e.g. https://www.cariservclass.com/gd/jane-roe-generator-and-electrical-services/) to direct customers to your page.

You benefit from 24 hours a day local, regional and international exposure and you do not pay based on the amount of information in your ad so you can feel free to list your services in a way you think will inform and attract customers. This would also include all of the relevant contact information and any social media or website links.

Word of mouth still remains a valid and free method of marketing and passing on information and it may in fact be all some businesses need, but word of mouth can only go so far. Word of mouth it’s has limitations because it can be slow at times and can have a limited reach which can limit growth. Due to this sometimes limited nature, it can result in missed opportunities especially in urgent situations and it takes control of the message away from you because it is dependent on what customers or competitors say.

ADVERTISING FOR YOU

The wonderful thing is, every time we advertise, everyone on the website stands to benefit. How we do this is by investing and also re-investing payments in advertising and website expansion. The more we grow together and the more traffic we drive to the website, then entrepreneurs and individuals looking for service providers have an increased chance of coming together.

Advertising, especially for individuals, micro and small businesses can be very expensive from month to month and in fact sometimes even for a few days, but businesses need exposure to help maintain a presence and grow. Caribbean Service Classifieds strives to keep your individuality as you advertise but at the same time harness the benefits and strength of working together to share and spread costs in our centralised location while showing the diversity of Caribbean entrepreneurs to the benefit of advertisers and visitors alike.

ADVERTISING YOURSELF WHENEVER YOU NEED OR WANT TO

There are social media buttons under the ads in every category and on every personal full page profile. This means with one click you can easily share your information to any individual or group on the supported social media platforms to quickly advertise yourself. This includes the ability to share to groups and contacts on mobile applications such as Whatsapp and more. Since you will have a fixed, 24 hour professional space with all of your information you can confidently advertise yourself consistently over time or at a moments notice.

In addition, you can use your personal full page profile URL on cards, flyers or if you do not have your own website.

You can use these options to give yourself further exposure tailored in a way to suit your specific needs effectively and efficiently.

a job seeker.

Not everyone wants to be an entrepreneur and have their own business but everyone has a skill and for job seekers your place to be is the Job Seekers section.

Just like with businesses, ads for job seekers will be placed in categories (like Home Help for example) for quick and easy identification and every ad links to a full page profile with contact information, any information on experience or whatever is deemed relevant, any images if relevant and an optional 5 star rating review system to allow any employers familiar with your work to leave a review and comments if you desire. Anyone can share your profile directly to social media and Whatsapp (if they have a compatible mobile device). This can be seen in example profile for a young lady seeking full time employment as a home helper and you can even use your personal profile URL (e.g. https://cariservclass.com/bb/example-profile-2/) to direct customers to your page.

If you are skilled and actively seeking employment whether it is full-time, part-time or on contract you can indicate your preferences and post your ad.

Being online 24 hours a day means you can be discovered at any point in time and this can also be very beneficial if an employer needs to meet with someone right away if an urgent situation arises. You can indicate the type of job you are interested in and anyone looking to employee someone with your skills in that area can contact you. You are always accessible to potential employers once you are online, this can be especially useful for individuals like baby sitters who may be available to work for more than one employer.

ADVERTISING FOR YOU

As with the Businesses section, every time we advertise, everyone on the website stands to benefit. It is one central location for the Caribbean and how we do this is by investing and also re-investing payments in advertising and website expansion and the more we grow together. The more traffic we drive to the website, then job seekers and potential employers have an increased chance of coming together. Once employers know where to look for individuals seeking employment they can find you at any hour of the day.

Advertising can be very expensive and if you’re looking for a job that can make it even more challenging or some times near to impossible to afford. Caribbean Service Classifieds strives to keep the costs as low as possible by harnessing the benefits and strength of working together to share and spread costs in our centralised location to allow us to advertise and increase the exposure of job seekers to potential employers.
